I Sold My Corvette For Only $1500.00!

Sandra sold her Corvette for thousands less than what it was worth because she didn't handle the paperwork properly...

"I sold my 1982 Collector Edition Corvette for $3,000. It was not running at the time and had been sitting in the garage for five years. My big mistake was letting the buyer give me half of the cash and I let him take the car with a written statement that he would pay the rest in full and I would hand over the title at that time. It is now three months later and I do not have the cash or the car. What do you think I should do? I have the title, but what good is a piece of paper without the car?"

My response...
Oh man, I wish I could have bought this Corvette for only $3000.00! How sad to have that happen to such a kind and trusting sould. Anyway, you don't want to EVER fork over the Title until you've been paid in full, so I'm glad you didn't do that. I can't give legal advice but if you can't squeeze the balance out of the buyer then this car dealer horror story sounds exactly like the kind of situation that Small Claims Court is meant for...assuming the deadbeat buyer is still around - you should win easily.
